Osteopaths and acupuncturists like to get to the cause of your condition. We seek out the reason for your symptoms in order to target underlying issues and not just treat symptoms. Headaches can be caused by many different things including trauma, such as a blow to the head or whiplash, neck and upper back tension, ear, eye, nose and throat conditions, vascular insufficiency and nerve impingement. Determining the cause is part of our role so we may treat you appropriately and if needed refer you for further investigation.

Osteopaths will use a variety of techniques to affect the muscles, ligaments, joints, nerves and blood supplf of the areas assessed to be contributing to your headache. Similarly, your acupuncturist or Chinese medicine practitioner will gently needle the appropriate acupuncture points for the working diagnosis and/or prescribe Chinese herbal medicine.

When it comes down to it, we will treat you as an individual. We will assess your body to determine any restrictions or imbalances you may have which are contributing to your headaches. Treatment will then be focused specifically on addressing those findings.
