Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral. Osteopaths and acupuncturists are primary care practitioners which means you can come in without a referral.

How many treatments will I need?

There is no set number because everyone is an individual. How may treatments you need will differ for different conditions, whether your condition is acute or chronic and how you respond to treatment. Every individual is different and therefore every course of treatment will be slightly different.

At your first consultation your practitioner will be able to give you an idea of how many treatments you may need. You ought to see some changes to your symptoms after a couple of visits. More chronic conditions may require a longer course of treatment.

How long will treatment take?

Your first treatment will take up to an hour. Subsequent treatments are usually about half an hour.

All acupuncture consultations are an hour long.

Both one hour and one-and-a-half-hour massage appointments are available.

You may be asked to disrobe to your underwear at times to allow your practitioner to examine you adequately to form an accurate diagnosis.
